Thilafushi recycled fairtrade necklace

£14.00

The guys at Selyn in Sri Lanka have made these very long necklaces from fabric off-cuts from the toy industry and recycled magazines.

In a “trash to beauty” transformation we have named these after the “Trash Island” in the neighbouring Maldives Thilafushi. Let’s hope one day it gets cleaned up.

Additional Info

These are from Fairtrade textile house Selyn in Sri Lanka.

Their main trade is in toys but with the offcuts they make funky handmade fabric jewellery.

Combined with recycled paper orbs these reminded us of the Maldive island of Thilafishu - “Trash island”.
