Amarasti - crafts from rural eSwatini

We are delighted to feature Amarasti as our third daily contribution to Fairtrade Fortnight here in the UK.

Amarasti is a textile house creating employment for people in eSwatini and they make some awesome things. Using mainly Shwe-Shwe fabric the items have a distinctly African feel but capture a different vibe to traditional wax print fabrics.

Amarasti make great bags, purses, wallets, bum bags and backpacks. They also do more traditional beadware purses and bags and are the source of our favourite “eish!” purse.

At Giving & Living in Exeter this year the Amarasti “ubuntu” caps were popular and we sold out of the very colourful bandanas.

Amarasti - only available in the UK from Danaqa.
